Mix and Match Ombre and Braided NOTD

With school just beginning this week, I was a mess of depression and stress acne. This cloudy weather has not been doing me any good either :( SO, I used my own form of relaxation/stress alleviation/pampering which is gettin’ my nails did ;) . I dove into my nail polish collection and knew I needed a neon and just happy pink colors and looking at this mani makes me happy even now!

The base of my thumb and pinky nails is Essie’s “Van D’Go” which is becoming one of my favorites. It’s not quite a pink and not quite a peach I just love it. Then, since I just bought a bundle of makeup wedges I did an ombre effect on my pointer and ringer fingers. I used “Van D’Go,” China Glaze’s “Flip Flop Fantasy,” and Sally Hansen’s, “Coral Reef.” I painted this on the sponge in lines the width of the brush, overlapping each color and dabbed them on my nails. Miss Jen Fabulous does a great tutorial for this check out her video!

For the Middle Finger I did a braided accent with “Van D’Go,” Essie’s “Penny Talk,” and “Coral Reef.” This finger is a little harder to explain so I’ll just link Cutepolish’s youtube tutorial which is the one I followed to create this look. (Love her youtube tutorials by the way. If you live under a rock and don’t know who she is CHECK HER OUT.)

Hope you all enjoy, and pray with me that Spring comes sooner rather than later!
